FDP for Enhanced Learning, Teaching and Research<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Faculty Development programs strengthen the professional development of the faculty members and administrators who deal directly with students. Our goal is to help these educators increase the effectiveness of their teaching, especially in undergraduate programs, so that they are better able to guide students on journeys of inquiry and discovery. We offer scholarships for junior faculty to obtain advanced degrees in their respective fields of study, as well as short-term, non-degree opportunities to help in-service teachers learn about new fields, apply new technologies, and link with their academic peers in Asia. Network institutions may also apply for faculty development grants.<\/span><\/p>\n

Faculty Development Program aims at training teachers, researchers, and trainers working in business schools or any other professional institution. It is a similarly used term for the development of staff and professionals, in settings that pertain to educators. This may include teacher training and is usually considered a pre-requisite before beginning teaching.<\/span><\/p>\n

This course is beneficial for teachers who wish to pursue their research to attain M.Phil\/Ph.D. degree. Such learning may take place during work hours or it may be beyond work hours. Educators can also pursue self-directed learning professional development. Faculty Development and Professional Development may both be used to refer to on-going professional learning for educators.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

In all aspects of higher education, academia faces new challenges that are in varied dimensions. The primary goals of higher education institutions are enhancing and maintaining academic excellence. Expectations of education quality, the changing technology and its impacts on teaching and learning, the rubric of assessment, the diverse diasporas of students\u2019 populations, and the changing paradigms in teaching and learning are some of the challenges that the teaching fraternity faces all the time in all generations. We at SDMIMD understand this.<\/span><\/div>\n

Therefore, higher education institutions need effective faculty members. To accomplish this successful faculty development is a key factor. Faculty members are the most important factor for achieving these goals since they are responsible for implementing the tasks that are directly associated with the goals. Faculty development programs enhance the necessary skills of faculty members and enable them to employ the skills in their class\/course delivery. Faculty development programs such as this contribute to the professional, personal and instructional progress of the educational institution faculty members.<\/span><\/p>\n

Overview of the Programme:<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n

The 2-day Programme commences with a general theme. The pedagogical methods of class delivery will be emphasized. The management concepts of Finance, Marketing, Human Resources, Information Systems, and Operations would be the key focus. The Programme in its latter half throws light on specialized streams of Finance, Marketing, and Human Resources Management. The Programme concludes with a day spent on how to handle cases in class, Project Assessments and Role plays as part of the pedagogical tools that enhance student-centric learning.<\/span><\/p>\n
